SCI-MX — New Production Facilities

SCI-MX has moved facilities. And no, not just a shuffle around the corner, we're talking a proper, full-scale move into a world-class production and distribution network in Trafford Park, Manchester.

If you didn't already know, SCI-MX is owned by Supreme PLC. They acquired the brand in 2021, and they've been quietly grafting away, building something seriously impressive up here in the North. The result? A manufacturing setup that's expanded its wellness production capability by around 40%. That's not a press release number, it's a genuine, steel-and-concrete upgrade right in the heart of Trafford Park, Salford.

Here's what it actually looks like on the ground.

The Ark is SCI-MX's new operational home, with head office, warehousing and distribution all under one roof (covering a whopping 167,000 square feet), which means orders are processed faster, and stock is managed better. It's the kind of infrastructure that a brand like SCI-MX needs as it invests in bigger and better northern operations.

What This Actually Means for You

Here's the bit that matters most as a customer. Previously, like a lot of sports nutrition brands, parts of the SCI-MX production process relied on third-party co-packers. That's not unusual; plenty of big names do it. But it did mean less control over raw materials, mixing, and how your product was actually made. 

All that changes now. With in-house manufacturing at VN Labs, SCI-MX owns the whole process, from the ingredients coming in the door to the finished product going out. This allows even tighter quality control, with stricter food safety and standard setter tracking across every batch. This consolidation into one purpose-built facility also means the QC team can streamline ingredient inspections and batch-test more confidently, with faster handoffs, less room for error, and a more efficient turnaround.

A newer, custom-fit site isn't just shinier, it's built for the job in a way that older, retrofitted units simply can't match. Put simply: you're getting a product that's been made with more care, more rigour, and more accountability than ever before. That's the real upgrade. 

Right, What About Availability?

We'll be straight with you, the move has caused some temporary gaps in stock on certain products. You might have noticed several products on our What'Supps store are unavailable, and for this, we apologise.

That's just the reality of a major operational shift. Things don't always land perfectly when you're consolidating an entire supply chain. But it's a short-term thing. Stock is building back up, the new facilities are getting fully up to speed, and the range will be back to full availability very soon. The truth is that short-term inconvenience for a long-term upgrade, we hope you'll agree, is a trade worth making.

We think it will be worth the wait; more capacity, better production standards and controls, and a supply chain that can actually keep up with growing demand for all things SCI-MX. This is SCI-MX investing in and committing to its northern ops. Made in the North, distributed from the North, and built to last.
